Add The Trims!

Hello, dear Fresh Squeezed friends! It's Virginia here!  Today is my LAST design team post here (wahhh...).  It's hard to believe that I started last July and it's time to say goodbye! Time sure flies when you are having fun!

For today's project, I made a Mother's Day card using Mother Knows Best.  Even though Mother's Day is still far away, you can always change the sentiment to suit the occasion!

With the right pattern paper and trims, this homespun card was really easy and fun to create.  I colored the yarns in copics and wrapped it with twine. The "valance" was created with some lace.  I also added some splatter in the background to give the design some interest.  I hope you like it!

Mother Knows Best

This post concludes my term here.  I want to thank Ryann and Shannon for trusting and giving me this amazing opportunity to play with Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the fabulous FSS! I will definitely miss blogging here!  Your support and encouragement mean a lot to me!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Hand-stitched with Love!

Happy Monday, Fresh Squeezed friends! It's Virginia here!  As Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be perfect to share a card that I made for a special someone.

The design is really simple.  I chose the handwritten heart from When Hearts Collide and did some stitching.  Can't sew or no sewing machine?  No problem! The easiest way to do this type of stitching is to pierce the holes with a paper-piercer first - a thumbtack will also work!  Then you can hand-stitch the holes.

You can incorporate any colors to your design.  I chose red to accentuate the design. Hand-stitching is ideal for adding interest and textures to a simple design.  It's well worth the effort, don't you think?!

Hope you get inspired and try some hand-stitching if you haven't already. Thanks for stopping by!  -Virginia

Today we're GIVING AWAY one of these favorites -- there are several ways to enter today's giveaway, and all the details are just below...

Kim Singdahlsen dusted off the favorite, Weather Through, a set packed with lots of meteorological images (ooh, big word!) and great sentiments you won't find anywhere else. Kim's made a standout card with her poppin' color scheme and clean style. Love the sequin raindrops, no doubt from a cloud with a silver lining!

It's all about some sunshine we're hoping for to melt the cold and bring on springtime! Lesley Croghan gets us in the mood with her sweet and cheerful card using Sublime Citrus. If you like puns as much as we do, this is a must-have set!

Katie Gehring's inspired ingenuity brings us a great new take on the Weather Through set! She's heat embossed the moon and stars and added die-cut clouds for texture. Love the sprinkle of sequins and the little pennant. Did we mention the sentiments in this set are unique?! Out of the box, folks, think outside that box!

Customize Your Own Sentiment!

Hello, dear Fresh Squeezed friends! It's Virginia here with your Monday FSS post! I want to share a birthday card that I created for my daughter's friend who was turning 25! Now 25 is really a very special age for a young lady!

First I gathered my supplies: Take a Number clear stamp set, pattern paper, yellow clear button, gold strings, ready-made banners and some washi tape.

All I had to do was stamp and emboss the sentiment in gold.  Clear stamps are perfect for that.  As long as you line up the stamps, you can create this sentiment in two easy steps!

Take a Number

With Take a Number, you can create ANY sentiment that suits the occasion!  I was told that the birthday girl loved this card to pieces.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!  -Virginia

Heart Happy

Happy Monday, Fresh Squeezed friends!  It's Virginia here!  I absolutely love the sentiment "you make my heart happy" from When Hearts Collide.  It prompted me to create this happy card.  I combined all my favorite things for card making - gold embossing, water coloring, paint splatter, gold strings and sequins!

I started out embossing the heart in white and used a water color pen and applied distress inks. I also gold-embossed the edges of the water-color paper and flicked some paint to make the splatters.  The gold strings and sequin are the final touches! I used only one image from this set...can you imagine the possibilities from the entire set?

When Hearts Collide

What are your favorite things on your cards?  Have you tried to combine them? Give it a try if you haven't already!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  -Virginia

You're 1 of a Kind!

Dear Fresh Squeezed friends! It's Virginia here with Monday's post. Today's card is a fun one that will make any receiver smile!

This one layer card is simple but it sure has a big impact. I started out with stamping the main penguin image. Then I stamped and cut out another using a thin piece of paper. I used it as a mask and stamped the rest of  the penguins.

At the end, it's the final touch that makes a card a WOW! I created the bow using the Ribbon Bow Punch with two small bows (just trim off the bottom part). Add a sequin, done! And....oh, don't forget to add a bit of Glossy Accents on the beaks to give them a little shine!

January Release Week Day 2 - When Hearts Collide

The shape of a heart is the iconic symbol of love and our brand new set is absolutely filled with hearts (and love)!

When Hearts Collide is a collection of the shapeliest hearts around!  They're as diverse as any group of creative folks -- wiry, solid, sexy, preppy -- to describe just a few.  Mix and match these lovely images and come up with a plethora of designs to express your love.  Add an arrow and sentiment and you've got yourself a heartwarming Valentine.

When Hearts Collide

Stacey Schafer's card is a surprise package of loveliness, filled with all the hearts and good stuff this new set has to offer!  One of the sentiments becomes a banner, and take a peek at what's under the vellum...hearts of every shape and size!  Love the "tails" of the stitching, along with the pretty twine, that give this card a touch of whimsy.

Stacey Schafer

Kim Singdahlsen featured the super fun "wiry" heart in her card.  We just love the shiny enamel hearts that perfectly coordinate, and her taupe and gold base create a fabulous stage for these four beauties!

Kim Singdahlsen

Lesley Croghan put this fun new set to good use!  She's featured a simple color palette with lots of *pop*, throwing in a dash of coordinating patterned paper for the belly band around the gift box.  All the fun layers are simply delightful!!

Lesley Croghan

Sarah Gough's picture perfect valentine is SO pretty!  All the feminine touches - doily, stitching, gold ink, and sequins - will make Cupid proud!

Sarah Gough

Katie Gehring took the name of our set to heart when she created this one!  A rainbow of hearts collide in this fun, fresh card perfect for anyone on your Valentine's Day list.  Her expert masking brings in dimension, almost as if these hearts are posing for a portrait!

Welcome to Day 1 of our release week!  Fresh Squeezed Stamps has the loveliest clear stamp sets of the season and all signs point to Cupid!

Love Signs makes short work of telling someone how much you care!  Get a conversation started about how your love measures up, or be a kid again carving it up with a smoochable chant!  So many fun ways to express how happy being in love can feel.

Love Signs

Lesley Croghan starts off the parade of sweetness with a fun gift set that includes an adorable gift card and candy-filled packets, all dolled up with the cutest tags.  Can't you see these at your next Bunco party or even your kids' classroom?  Endless possibilities here, folks!

Lesley Croghan

Virginia Lu's modern twist on an old-time favorite will brighten anyone's day!  We love the graphic, multicolor background and the hand embossed "frame".  Looks like something hanging in a MoMA gallery, eh?!

Virginia Lu

Katie Gehring's take on the chalkboard effect is spot on!  Literally, she's created a lovely little chalkboard straight out of the School of Love...eek, aren't those tiny "chalks" so cute? Did you notice the chalk tray made from Background Check? The paper doily and enamel dots are the perfect touches!

Katie Gehring

Stacey Schafer's style really shines in this Valentine's Day card that's just smitten with detail!  Love Signs really measures up -- in so many ways.  She's easily mixed and matched the fun images for that special someone.

Stacey Schafer

Kim Singdahlsen's taken a crisp, clean approach to her card and thrown in a border from Background Check to create the graph paper edge.  The black and white, with bold splashes of color, really set this card apart.  It's simple science, people, you're sure to love this new set!!

Kim Singdahlsen

Sarah Gough sees the writing on the wall -- it's true love!  She expertly combines her paper pieced "bliss" banner stamp with the banner on her patterned paper.  The heart checked box, with just the right touch of bling, add a feminine touch to this pretty, yet rustic, card.
